OpenAI delays GPT Store launch to early 2024.

OpenAI, in an email obtained by the Verge, informed GPT Builder sign-ups that the GPT store launch would be postponed to the following year.
What led to the postponement of the GPT Store by OpenAI
In the email, OpenAI attributed the delay of the GPT Store to unforeseen factors that have kept the company occupied. Originally slated for a December release, the store’s launch was initially announced at the November developer conference, with the expectation of it happening later that month. However, the planned launch did not materialize and encountered subsequent delays.
The creator of ChatGPT emphasized the ongoing efforts to improve GPTs based on user feedback. OpenAI also mentioned that users can expect updates to the widely-used ChatGPT chatbot as work on the store progresses. The development team additionally revealed plans for enhancing specific features of the custom GPT platform.
GPTs embody early AI assistant models capable of performing practical tasks like booking flights. During the November event, OpenAI also revealed intentions to reward individuals who created their GPTs, with the payout linked to the extent of usage.
In the past few weeks, the company underwent a turbulent phase. Last month, the board dismissed CEO Sam Altman. After almost five days of upheaval, Altman was reinstated as OpenAI’s CEO.
