During Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ event, the iPhone 15 Pro was unveiled, featuring a speedier processor, a lighter titanium frame, improved cameras, new color choices, and additional enhancements.

While retaining a familiar overall design, Apple has adopted a titanium frame for the Pro series, resulting in a lighter device compared to stainless steel. The inclusion of smaller, curved bezels contributes to a more compact display frame.

The use of titanium makes the iPhone 15 Pro the lightest among Pro iPhones, reducing overall dimensions while maintaining the screen size. The device features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen reinforced with Ceramic Shield for enhanced durability. Its renowned always-on OLED display incorporates Pro Motion technology, providing adaptable refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

This display boasts a resolution of 2556-by-1179 pixels, providing a pixel-per-inch density of 460. It supports features like True Tone, wide color gamut (P3), Haptic Touch, and boasts an impressive 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Under typical usage, it achieves a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, but it can be cranked up to 2000 nits at its peak.

The Action Button offers full customization with adjustable haptic feedback levels. Out of the box, it functions as the ring/silent switch, activated by a long press. With a single press, users can either record a voice memo or initiate the Camera app. Furthermore, it allows the activation of accessibility features or Shortcuts, expanding the range of available options.

Apple has integrated the A17 Pro processor into the iPhone 15 Pro, surpassing the performance of the A16 Bionic. This chip is crafted using a cutting-edge 3nm manufacturing process and incorporates two high-performance cores along with four energy-efficient cores.

The A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro represents a new generation of Apple’s processor technology. Boasting an impressive 19 billion transistors, it introduces a novel 6-core CPU architecture, consisting of two high-performance cores and four energy-efficient cores.

This revamped CPU elevates both the performance and efficiency cores, with the high-performance cores delivering a 10% increase in speed. Meanwhile, the efficiency cores contribute to enhanced overall performance.

The fresh 16-core Neural Engine now handles a staggering 35 trillion operations per second, improving autocorrect performance and various other aspects.

The iPhone 15 Pro houses a tri-camera system on its rear. The primary camera features an impressive 48-megapixel sensor with an f/1.78 aperture, incorporating a new nano-scale coating to minimize lens flare, resulting in improved Portrait and Night Mode photography.

Introducing the all-new Ultra Wideband 2 chip, the iPhone 15 Pro enhances its ability to locate not only misplaced devices but also other gadgets equipped with this advanced chip. With UW2, the iPhone 15 Pro can pinpoint the whereabouts of friends and family members in crowded environments, contingent upon their sharing of location data through Find My.

MagSafe, a hallmark feature, remains part of the iPhone 15 Pro, ensuring precise alignment for both MagSafe and Qi2 wireless chargers for magnetic wireless charging.

To enhance wireless performance, the iPhone 15 Pro adopts Wi-Fi 6E, potentially doubling wireless speeds. Additionally, it is Thread-enabled, enhancing compatibility with a wide range of smart home products.

In terms of safety features, Apple is expanding access to emergency services. The new iPhone supports Roadside Assistance via satellite, forming a partnership with AAA in the United States. This service enables iPhone 15 Pro owners to seek assistance even when cellular or Wi-Fi connections are unavailable. It prompts users to complete a questionnaire, specifying their issue, such as a flat tire or being locked out. Once connected, Roadside Assistance via satellite relays the user’s precise location to AAA. This service will be complimentary for the first two years.

The iPhone 15 Pro starts at a price of $999 for the 128GB model and comes in four striking colors: black titanium, white titanium, natural titanium, and blue titanium.
