Windows Photos app may adopt features resembling Google soon.
1 min readPresently emphasizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft expands AI capabilities to Windows 11’s Photos app. The tech giant introduces AI-powered magic for background manipulation in images, enabling users to blur, remove, and replace backgrounds, with the option to save in .png format, as detailed by WindowsLatest.
The most recent release in the Windows Insider Program Canary channel unveils the new AI magic feature within the Photos app.
This isn’t the first instance of Microsoft integrating AI into photo-related functions. The recent addition of background removal in the Paint app mirrors its implementation in the Photos app. The AI identifies objects, bodies, and faces of humans or animals, eliminating the background and preserving only the foreground.
The newly introduced AI features seamlessly integrate into the Edit menu of the Photos app. Clicking or tapping directs users to the photo editing screen, where they can access Blur, Remove, and Replace options.
Users can also customize blur intensity and brush size, enhancing the editing experience.
It’s worth noting that these latest features in the Photos app are currently in beta, available through the Windows Insider Program Canary channel. The features are integrated into Microsoft Photos app version 2023.11110.8002.0, accessible for download via the Microsoft Store.
